College of Charleston

The Costume Survey

Description provided by the program

The College of Charleston offers a National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) accredited BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Costume design and construction. Through classwork and practical experience on productions, our encouraging faculty trains students in patterning, draping, rendering and design for both theatre and dance. Students are encouraged to develop their skills and have the opportunity to design on the main stage by their junior and senior year. Paid shop assistant positions are also available to undergraduate students who have a strong interest in costume construction and patterning.
