Description provided by the program

Both degrees offer an integrated approach to design and technology. Rigorous and broad-based academics emphasize mastery of text, design, creative collaboration, and technical execution at all levels of development. We provide professionally-oriented, collaborative practical opportunities on realized productions alongside peers, faculty, national guest artists. Students design over 90% of a 6+ show season, including musicals, classics, some dance (modern). Professional internship, yearly portfolio review, hands-on career mentoring are cornerstones. An wholistic approach and close relationship with a vibrant BFA performance program is well-suited for theatre artists with a professional outlook and experience interested in developing careers the profession and in higher education. Talent scholarships are available for BFA students. Full tuition and fees with a monthly stipend are available for shop assistantship and/or teaching opportunities for MFA candidates.
