Beginning in Fall 2019, the SRU Theatre Department will be in fully renovated facilities with new shop spaces. Slippery Rock currently produces 4 mainstage productions each year as well as additional student written and directed works. Beginning in Fall 2019, SRU will add a new musical theatre concentration to our programs. With a small student-to-faculty ratio, students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience every semester. Paid costume shop assistant positions are available. Special Topics courses are taught regularly including; Fabric Painting and Dyeing, Maskmaking, Advanced Costmue Crafts, and Antique and Reverse Patterning.

  • Rebecca Morrice: MFA. Costume Design. Areas of Interest/Specialty are Painting & Dyeing, Costume Technology and Natural Dyes.


  • Also: 1 paid student costume shop assistant, 1 faculty designer/manager, 1-2 student stitchers
